Culdoscopy

An examination of the interior of a woman’s pelvis using a culdoscope.


Technique for visually examining the pelvic organs of a woman by insertion of a culdoscope (special instrument) through the vagina; compare laparoscopy.


A procedure in which an endoscope is passed through the posterior vaginal wall to permit visualization of the female pelvic structures.


Culdoscopy is a method of examining the pelvic organs in women by means of an instrument comparable to a cystoscope, inserted into the pelvic cavity through the wall of the vagina. The instrument used for this purpose is known as a culdoscope.


Examination of the viscera of the female pelvic cavity after introduction of an endoscope through the wall of the posterior fornix of the vagina.
