Cystography

An examination of the urinary bladder by X-rays after radio-opaque dye has been introduced.

X-ray examination of the urinary bladder after the injection of a contrast medium. The X-ray photographs or films thus obtained are known as cysto-grams. Cystography is most commonly performed to detect reflux of urine from the bladder to the ureters, usually in children. If films are taken during voiding then the ureters can also be observed.

Radiography of any cyst into which a contrast medium has been instilled, especially the bladder.
