Delhi sore

A skin condition caused by the leishmaniasis bacteria, which is transmitted by a certain type of fly. The disease features ulcers that often become infected with additional bacteria. These secondary infections must be treated with penicillin before addressing the underlying leishmaniasis. Kala-azar is another disease within this group, all falling under the umbrella term of leishmaniasis. These ulcers go by various names around the world, including Aleppo boil, tropical sore, Biskra button, Baghdad boil, Kandahar sore, Delhi boil, Tashkend ulcer, Ashkabad sore, and Pendeh sore, among others.
