An intermittent positive pressure breathing unit used to assist or control ventilation with a valve connected to an oxygen source that opens in response to a person’s inspiratory effort and inflates the lungs until a preset pressure limit is reached. This unit is not acceptable on ambulances unless a manual control is provided.
