Dietary goals for the united states

In 1977, the Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs released its report recommending that American society strive to meet dietary goals in the areas of carbohydrates, sugar, fat, protein, cholesterol, and salt intake. While revised by various organizations and agencies in the intervening years, these goals established a benchmark for the improvement of nutrition in the United States.
