Direct current

A current that flows in one direction only, used medically for cardioversion and defibrillation of dysrhythmias.


Constant, even-flowing current that travels in one direction only and is produced by chemical means.


An electrical phenomenon characterized by the unidirectional movement of electric charges is referred to as direct current (DC). This particular type of current is generated by sources such as batteries and solar cells.
