As seen in the median sagittal plane, a prosthesis addition posterior to the most distal tooth or implant abutment. The extension can be uni‐ or bilateral and in the form of an artificial tooth or teeth, a cantilever for a fixed prosthesis, or a denture base segment for a removable partial denture.
