Dysdiadochokinesia

The inability to carry out rapid movements, caused by a disorder or lesion of the cerebellum.


Loss of the ability to perform rapid alternate movements, such as winding up a watch. It is a sign of a lesion in the cerebellum.


An impairment in making smooth and rapid, alternating movements (e.g., turning the palms of the hands rapidly up and down on one’s lap). This is one of the impairments brought on by malfunctioning of the cerebellum.
