Dysesthesia

An abnormal and unpleasant sensation that is either spontaneous or evoked. Dysesthesia includes paresthesia but not vice versa.


An unpleasant abnormal sensation produced by normal stimuli.


Perception of an irritating sensation in response to normal stimuli due to nerve dysfunction.


Experiencing difficulty in performance of voluntary movements.


The abnormal and sometime unpleasant sensation felt by a patient with partial damage to a peripheral nerve where his skin is touched.


An abnormal and unpleasant sensation, such as a sense of burning, cutting, numbness, prickling, stinging, or tingling of the skin.


Distorted or unpleasant sensations experienced by a person when the skin is touched, typically caused by abnormalities in the sensory pathways in the brain and spinal cord.
