Fluconazole

Triazole antifungal agent that is used to treat oropharyngeal candidiasis and cryptococcal meningitis in AIDS.

An antifungal drug used to treat yeast infections. Fluconazole (Diflucan, Triflucan) is used to treat oral candidiasis (thrush) and cryptococcal meningitis, opportunistic infections often seen in people with AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). Other infections against which fluconazole is effective include esophageal candidiasis, systemic candidiasis, and vaginal candidiasis. It is also used to prevent infection in people undergoing bone marrow transplantation.


An oral triazole antifungal drug used to treat local and systemic infections.


A systemic antifungal administered orally or intravenously to treat fungal infections caused by susceptible organisms. Such conditions include oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, serious systemic candidal infections, urinary tract infections, peritonitis, and cryptococcal, meningitis.


Fluconazole is an antifungal medication employed to treat candidiasis (thrush), a fungal infection that often affects the vagina or mouth. While it is generally well tolerated, there may be instances of mild side effects such as nausea and diarrhea.
