Frequent urination

Referred to as urinary “frequency,” this condition involves urinating more frequently than the typical four to six times a day.

Frequent urination can be caused by various factors such as excessive urine production, bladder inflammation known as cystitis, anxiety, bladder stones, and an enlarged prostate gland in men. In rare cases, a bladder tumor may also be the cause. Individuals with kidney failure may also experience increased urination, particularly at night. Temporary spikes in urination frequency can occur after consuming drinks that contain alcohol or caffeine.

The treatment for frequent urination is focused on addressing the root cause.
