Fuse

In anatomy, to unite or join together, fused joint; fusion.


To join together to form a single structure, or to join two or more things together.


A safety device consisting of a strip of wire made from easily meltable metal of predetermined conductance. The metal melts, breaking the circuit when excess current passes through.


Prevents excessive current from passing through a circuit.


A safeguarding apparatus incorporates a compact segment of specialized wire designed to melt when the current passing through surpasses the predetermined value within a specific duration. This device, known as a fuse, is inserted in series within the circuit being safeguarded, such as at the primary switch of the x-ray circuit.
