Halo effect

The tendency to assume that persons who possess one positive characteristic, also possess other positive characteristics.


The effect (usually beneficial) which the manner, attention and caring of a provider have on a patient during a medical encounter regardless of what medical procedures or services the encounter actually involves.


The giving of an inflated performance appraisal or grade to an employee or student because of the appraiser’s tendency to regard all subordinates fondly.
