Ham test

A test done on blood to detect a particular cause of anemia, called paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), in which destroyed red blood cells are found in the urine, generally for several days in a row, more often during the night. This problem occurs irregularly, together with other symptoms such as headache and abdominal and back pain.

A test for diagnosing paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, in which red cells are assessed for resistance to lysis during incubation with acidified serum.
