Hand-arm vibration syndrome

Injury to the nerves, muscles, and tendons of the wrist and hand due to the repetitive use of vibrating hand tools.

Hand-arm vibration syndrome refers to pain and numbness in the hand and arm resulting from the extended use of vibrating tools. Symptoms often encompass a blue or white hue in the fingers and a tingling feeling in the impacted areas. The condition usually develops gradually over years due to repeated harm to blood vessels and nerves. Cold exposure often exacerbates the condition.

There isn’t a specific treatment for this condition, but abstaining from the use of vibrating tools is crucial to prevent the disease from progressing. In certain instances, calcium channel blockers may be employed to alleviate some symptoms.
