Hebephrenia

A subtype of schizophrenia characterized especially by incoherence, delusions lacking an underlying theme, and affect that is usually flat or inappropriate. Also known as disorganized schizophrenia.

A condition in which someone, usually an adolescent, has hallucinations, delusions and deterioration of personality, talks rapidly and generally acts in a strange manner.


Form of schizophrenia marked by severe disintegration of personality. It typically becomes evident during puberty with symptoms of extreme silliness; inappropriate laughter; facial grimaces; talking and gesturing to oneself; withdrawal from contact with others, and delusions and hallucinations. A type of schizophrenia that typically becomes apparent during adolescence. It is distinguished by inappropriate and disorganized behavior, social withdrawal, and fluctuations in mood.
