An agent capable of destroying blood cells.


Destruction of red blood cells.


Causing, associated with, or resulting from destruction of red blood cells (erythrocytes). For example, a hemolytic antibody is one that causes destruction of red cells; a hemolytic anemia is due to red cell destruction.


Capable of decomposing or dissolving red blood cells, the bacteria responsible for lymphadenitis exhibit hemolytic properties.
