Hydralazine

A drug that lowers blood pressure. People usually receive it in combination with other drugs that increase the output of urine.


Drug that dilates blood vessels and is used, often in combination with a diuretic, in the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure. Adverse effects include headache, rapid heart rate, and gastrointestinal disturbances. It may also exacerbate angina in a small number of patients.


A drug used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. Hydralazine (Hydra-Zide, Apresoline) is in a class of drugs called vasodilators that lower blood pressure by causing blood vessels to dilate, or widen. It is available in tablet form and by injection.


A drug that lowers blood pressure and is used, usually in conjunction with diuretics, to treat hypertension. It is given by mouth or injection; side-effects, including rapid heart rate, headache, faintness, and digestive upsets, can occur, especially at high doses.


Hydralazine is a medication used predominantly for the immediate treatment of hypertension, or high blood pressure. Side effects of Hydralazine may include nausea, headaches, dizziness, an irregular heartbeat, loss of appetite, rashes, and joint pain. If taken in high doses over a prolonged period, it can lead to the development of the connective tissue disease known as lupus erythematosus.
