Excessive shrinkage of the womb and associated structures after childbirth. The condition may become extreme if breast-feeding continues for a very long time or if the reproductive tract becomes seriously infected shortly after delivery.


Reduction in the size of the uterus to below normal after childbirth.


The reduction of an organ to a size smaller than usual, particularly following enlargement. This term is often used to describe the uterus returning to a size smaller than normal after pregnancy.
