Hyperpituitarism

A disease due to overactivity of the pituitary gland which produces a gigantic person with deformed bones.


Overactivity of the pituitary gland.

Over-activity of the pituitary gland, causing excess secretion of all or some of the pituitary hormones, especially over-activity of the anterior lobe, leading to excess secretion of growth hormone and the disorders acromegaly and gigantism.
