Hypoxaemia

Is the reduction of oxygen specifically in the blood.


An inadequate supply of oxygen in the arterial blood.


A fall in the concentration of oxygen in the arterial blood. Symptoms are those of cyanosis and, if severe, the affected individual will show signs of respiratory failure.


Hypoxemia is a condition marked by an unusually low level of oxygen in the arterial blood, which is the blood responsible for delivering oxygen to body tissues. Hypoxemia can potentially result in hypoxia.
