Hysteresis loss

In an iron-core transformer, the occurrence of power loss is minimized to a great extent. Alternating current (A.C.) initiates the formation of magnetic domains within the iron core, first in one direction and then in the opposite direction. This rearrangement process generates heat within the core material. However, the utilization of silicon steel effectively mitigates this heat generation, resulting in decreased energy dissipation.
