Ileocecal valve

The valve at the junction between the large and small intestines.


Valve between the ileum of the small intestine and the cecum of the large intestine that prevents the back-flow of material from the large to the small intestine.


A valve at the junction of the small and large intestines consisting of two membranous folds that close to prevent the backflow of food from the colon and cecum to the ileum.


A projection of two membranous folds of the ileum of the small intestine into the cecum of the colon. It prevents backup of fecal material into the small intestine.


A valve located where the terminal ileum meets the cecum, designed to prevent the backflow of cecal contents into the ileum, also referred to as the ileocolic valve.
