Infantilism

Persistence of infantile emotional attitudes and behavior patterns into adulthood.


A condition in which a person keeps some characteristics of an infant when he or she becomes an adult.


Condition in which childhood characteristics (mental and/or physical) continue into adulthood.


Persistence of childlike physical or psychological characteristics into adult life.


The condition characterized by imperfect sexual development at puberty. It may or may not be associated with small stature, and may be due to lack of development of certain of the endocrine glands: for example, the gonads, pituitary gland or adrenal glands. In other cases it may be associated with a generalized disease such as diabetes mellitus, asthma, ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis.


A condition in which the mind and body make slow development and the individual fails to attain adult characteristics. It is characterized by mental retardation, stunted growth, and sexual immaturity.
