Chronic inflammation of the lungs, characterized by progressive dyspnea, fever, and bluish discoloration of the skin (cyanosis). It may be caused by a hypersensitivity reaction to a particular drug or by an autoimmune disorder. Treatment is symptomatic, but the disease often progresses to pulmonary or heart failure.
