Involution

An inward curvature.


The return of an organ to its usual size, e.g. the shrinking of the uterus after childbirth.


A period of decline of organs which sets in after middle age.


Decrease in the size of an organ, as in the return of the uterus to its normal size after childbirth. V. involute.


The shrinking of the womb to its normal size after childbirth.


The process of change whereby the uterus returns to its resting size after parturition (birth). The term is also applied to any retrograde biological change, as in senility.


A word indicating a return to its usual size, often used to describe the uterus contracting back to its original size after giving birth.


The process by which the uterus returns to its regular size and shape after giving birth or following menopause.
