Ischium

One of the bones of the pelvis.


The lower part of the hip bone in the pelvis.


Ischia, one of the three parts of the hip (innominate bone), the other two being the ilium and pubis.


A bone forming the lower part of each side of the hip bone.


Ischium is the bone which forms the lower and hinder part of the pelvis. It bears the weight of the body in sitting.


The lower, posterior portion of the innominate or hip bone. It is a separate bone at birth; it begins to fuse with the pubis by age 8; and it is fully fused with the pubis and ilium by 16 to 18 years of age.


The lower portion of the pelvic bone called the innominate bone, which supports the body when seated.
