Isoagglutination

Process in which antibodies (isoagglutinins) occurring naturally in blood cause clumping of red blood cells of a different group, carrying a corresponding antigen (isoagglutinogen) but of the same species.

Agglutination of red blood cells by agglutinins from the blood of another member of the same species.

The coagulation of blood resulting from the reaction between the blood serum of one animal and the red blood cells of another animal of the same species. This reaction is fundamental to all tests conducted to verify the compatibility of blood before transfusion to a patient.
