Isosorbide dinitrate

A compound which causes widening or relaxation of the blood vessels, used in the treatment of angina pectoris.


Drug used to treat angina pectoris and congestive heart failure. Adverse effects include hypotension, dizziness, and headache.


A drug used to relieve or prevent angina (chest pain). Isosorbide dinitrate (Isordil, Sorbitrate, Dilatrate, and others) relieves angina pectoris by dilating or widening blood vessels and by relaxing the muscles in their walls, thereby improving oxygen flow and reducing chest pain.
