Lean

A term applied to seafood, game meat, meat and poultry products, and main dish and meal products. It means less than 10 g total fat, less than 4 g saturated fat, and less than 95 mg cholesterol. “Extra Lean” is used to describe a food with less than 5 g total fat, 2 g saturated fat, and 95 mg cholesterol.


Without excess fat; as applied by the USD A it indicates that a meat or poultry product contains less than 10 g of fat, 4.5 g of saturated fat and 95 mg of cholesterol per serving.
