A drug which lowers serum triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and raises high-density lipoprotein cholesterol to reduce the progression of coronary arthero-sclerosis. Lipid-lowering drugs are used in people with, or at high risk of developing coronary heart disease.
