Loratadine

An antihistamine. Loratadine (Claritin) is used to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis, or hay fever. Loratadine is a non-sedating, long-acting antihistamine that is also fast-acting: effects may be felt within 1 to 3 hours of taking a dose, and they may last more than 24 hours. Loratadine is used to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes, and other allergy symptoms. It may also be used to treat hives (chronic urticaria).

This antihistamine medication is utilized to alleviate symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, a runny nose, and itchy eyes. It’s also employed for managing allergic skin issues like chronic urticaria. Notably, it has a lower likelihood of inducing drowsiness compared to certain other antihistamines. Adverse effects are infrequent and may encompass headache, fatigue, and nausea. In rare instances, fainting or palpitations (a sensation of rapid, forceful heartbeat) might occur. If such a situation arises, discontinuing the medication and seeking medical advice is recommended.
