Losartan

An antihypertensive drug. Losartan (Cozaar) is a drug used to treat high blood pressure. It works by blocking the action of angiotensin, a hormone found in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten and salt and water to be retained. By blocking these actions, losartan lowers blood pressure. Losartan is also used together with diuretics to lower blood pressure.


An antihypertensive and angiostensin II receptor antagonist, administered orally to manage hypertension.


This medication belongs to the class of angiotensin II antagonists and is utilized for managing hypertension (elevated blood pressure). Adverse effects are infrequent and generally mild, encompassing sensations of dizziness, episodes of diarrhea, and feelings of fatigue.
