  • Retention toxicosis

    Toxicosis from retained products that normally are excreted shortly after formation.  

  • Exogenous toxicosis

    Any toxic condition resulting from a poison not generated in the body.  

  • Endogenous toxicosis

    A disease due to poisons generated within the body.  

  • Toxicoderma

    Any skin disease resulting from a poison. A skin condition induced by toxic substances.  

  • Toxicodendron

    A genus of trees and shrubs, formerly called Rhus, some species of which, such as poison ivy and poison oak, contain oily resins that produce an allergic contact dermatitis in susceptible people.  

  • Neurobehavioral toxicity

    Alterations in attention, concentration, coordination, mood, muscle activity, neurological development, or sensation resulting from exposure to a poisonous chemical, drug, or physical agent.

    A giant multinucleated cell found in lesions of xanthomatosis.  

  • Rotating tourniquet

    The application of blood pressure cuffs to three extremities; used in certain types of medical emergencies, such as acute pulmonary edema, to reduce the return of blood to the heart.   • Tournay’s sign

    Dilatation of the pupil of the eye on unusually strong lateral fixation.  

  • Toupet’s procedure

    A surgical treatment for gastroesophageal reflux in which the stomach is partially wrapped around the lower esophagus. The surgery may be performed with a traditional incision or laparoscopically.
