Disinfection of thermometer
Disinfection of a thermometer with a substance that is able to kill ordinary bacteria and Mycobacterium tuberculosis as well as viruses. A variety of chemical solutions are used, but the effectiveness of these agents can be greatly diminished if the thermometer is not washed thoroughly before being disinfected.

A thermometer that determines the temperature electronically by measuring it from the tympanic membrane of the ear.
