  • Syringopontia

    Cavity formation in the pons varolii similar to syringomyelia.  

  • Syringomeningocele

    A meningocele that is similar to a syringomyelocele.

    A condition of cavities in the brain and spinal cord.  

  • Syringocystoma

    A cystic tumor having its origin in ducts of the sweat gland. A uncommon skin condition believed to originate from embryonic sweat glands. The lesions appear as light rose-colored, oval bumps, about the size of a split pea and are almost flush with the skin.

    The central canal of the myelon or spinal cord.

    A syringe on a dental unit that delivers compressed air, water, or both through a fine nozzle to clear or dry an area or to evacuate debris from an operative field.  

  • Syrian rue

    The common name for the plant, Peganum harmala, whose seeds are brewed in some cultures to make a tea with hallucinogenic properties. Its seeds contain harmaline alkaloids (harmine, harmaline and tetrahydroharmine) which are members of the class of chemicals known as beta-carboline alkaloids. They increase levels of serotonin in the central and peripheral nervous systems.…
