Scarf sign
A newborn assessment finding in which the infant’s elbow crosses the body midline without resistance as the examiner draws the arm across the chest to the opposite shoulder. This is characteristic of preterm infants born before 30 weeks gestation.

Concerning the scapula and clavicle. Related to the shoulder blade and collarbone.

Surgical excision of the scapula. Surgical excision of a portion or the entire shoulder blade.

Scapulary
A shoulder bandage for keeping a body bandage in place. A broad roller bandage is split in half. The undivided section of the roller bandage is fastened in front with the two ends passing over the shoulders and attached to the back of the body bandage.
