Retinotomy
Surgical incision of the retina, e.g., to remove proliferating blood vessels in age-related macular degeneration.

Retinosis
Any degenerative process of the retina not associated with inflammation.

Pneumatic retinopexy
A treatment for retinal detachment, in which a bubble of gas is instilled into the vitreous. As the bubble attains equilibrium with body gases, it expands and forces the detached area back into place; then, cryotherapy or photocoagulation is used to reattach the retina permanently.

Circinate retinopathy
A ring of degenerated white exudative area of the retina around the macula.

Arteriosclerotic retinopathy
Retinopathy accompanying generalized arteriosclerosis and hypertension.

Retinopapillitis
Inflammation of the retina and optic papilla extending to the optic disk.

Retinodialysis
Detachment of the retina at its periphery.

Retinochoroiditis
Inflammation of the retina and choroid.

Syphilitic retinitis
Retinitis resulting from or associated with syphilis. It may also involve the optic nerve (syphilitic neuroretinitis).

Suppurative retinitis
Retinitis associated with septicemia resulting from pyogenic organisms.
