  • Pyloroscopy

    Fluoroscopic examination of the pylorus.  

  • Jaboulay pyloroplasty

    A pyloroplasty in which the pyloric antrum and proximal duodenum are opened separately and then joined side-to-side by overlapping them. This procedure is typically used to relieve gastric outlet obstruction.  

  • Finney pyloroplasty

    A side-to-side pyloroplasty in which a single incision opens the pyloric antrum and the proximal duodenum. The two organs are then connected via a U-shaped anastomosis. The procedure is used to treat gastric outlet obstruction.  

  • Pylorogastrectomy

    Excision of the pyloric portion of the stomach.  

  • Pyloroduodenitis

    Inflammation of the mucosa of the pyloric outlet of the stomach and duodenum.  

  • Pyloric obstruction and dilatation

    Blockage of the lower orifice of the stomach with consequent hypertrophy and dilatation. Pyloric obstruction increases the resistance offered to the expulsion of food from the stomach. The causes of dilatation are pyloric obstruction, lax ness of walls from simple atony, or excessive ingestion of food or drink.  

  • Pylethrombophlebitis

    Thrombosis and inflammation of the portal vein. Inflammation coupled with clotting in the portal vein.  

  • Pyknomorphous

    Characterized by compact arrangement of the stainable portions, said especially of certain nerve cells.  

  • Pyknodysostosis

    An autosomal recessive disease that affects bones and resembles osteopetrosis, but the disease is mild and not associated with hematological or neurological abnormalities. Affected children have short stature, open fontanels, frontal bossing, hypoplastic facial bones, blue sclerae, and dental abnormalities. There may be double rows of malformed teeth.
