A gram-negative bacillus formerly classified in the genus Vibrio. It is a cause of fulminant wound infections.

Capable of synthesizing nutrients from light and inorganic chemicals. Said of certain microorganisms, such as bacteria that contain chlorophyll.

Emitting both luminous and actinic rays. Emitting both light-producing and actinic rays. Actinic rays are the ones that induce chemical changes in tissues.

A subjective sensation of color or fight produced by a stimulus of another sense, such as smell, hearing, taste, or touch.

Photic sneezing
Sneezing initiated or hastened in its onset by light stimulus. It is sometimes due to light causing tears, which, upon draining into the nasal area, cause sneezing.

Exposing a subject to flashing lights during an EEG (electroencephalographic) recording.
