Eccrine sweat gland
One of many glands distributed over the entire skin surface that, because they secrete sweat, are important in regulating body heat. The total number of glands ranges from 2 million to 5 million. There are over 400 per square centimeter on the palms and about 80 per square centimeter on the thighs.
