Viral gastroenteritis
Gastroenteritis caused by ingested viruses. The median incubation period is 24 to 48 hr and the median duration of the symptoms is 12 to 60 hr. Most patients will experience diarrhea, nausea, abdominal cramps, and vomiting and many become dehydrated. There is no specific treatment other than supportive therapy and fluid replacement.
