  • Amnemonic agraphia

    Inability to write sentences, although letters or words can be written.  

  • Acoustic agraphia

    Inability to write words that are heard.  

  • Absolute agraphia

    Complete inability to write.  

  • Agonistic antibody

    An antibody that stimulates or activates an organ. For example, agonistic antibodies against the thyrotropin receptor in Grave’s disease stimulate the thyroid gland to release thyroid hormones that produce hyperthyroidism.  

  • Beta-2 agonist

    A medication that stimulates bronchodilation. Examples include albuterol, salmeterol, terbutaline, and many others.  

  • Beta agonist

    A drug that stimulates adrenergic receptors in the lungs, heart, uterus, and other organs. Beta agonists are used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive lung diseases and to manage pregnancy. A substance that acts as a beta-adrenergic agonist, binding to beta receptors and inducing adrenergic effects, including the expansion of bronchial passages.  

  • Agnostic

    Uncertain of the ability to prove a proposition, and, therefore, not interested in the beliefs, ideas, or suggestions based upon it.  

  • Tactile agnosia

    Inability to distinguish objects by touch.  

  • Optic agnosia

    Inability to interpret seen images.  

  • Color agnosia

    Inability to recognize or name specific colors.
