  • Opponens pollicis muscle

    Muscle of the hand that pulls the thumb across the palm to enable a pinch-type grasp. A muscle of the hand originating on the trapezium and flexor retinaculum and inserted in the first metacarpal. It flexes and adducts the thumb (brings it across the palm) and is controlled by the median nerve.  

  • Oophorragia

    Hemorrhaging from the ovary.  

  • Onocryptosis

    Ingrown fingernail or toenail.  

  • Oligopnea

    Infrequent breathing that causes less oxygen to enter the lungs. Infrequent or shallow respirations, usually less than 10 breaths per minute.    

  • Olfactory aura

    Subjective sensation of smell experienced just prior to the onset of seizure activity.  

  • Olecranon process

    The curved segment of the ulna commonly referred to as the elbow. The large process of the ulna that projects behind the elbow joint. The large process on the ulnar bone that projects behind the joint of the elbow.

    Acute spasm and involuntary deviation or fixation of the eyes in an upward gaze; associated with dystonia from antipsychotic or antiemetic medications.
