  • Exercise-induced urticaria

  • Esophagospasm

    Sudden, involuntary, often painful contraction of the muscles of the esophagus. A painful muscular contraction of the esophagus.  

  • Esophageal sphincter

    Valve at the end of the esophagus as it joins with the stomach that prevents reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. A ring-shaped muscular structure that seals the final few centimeters of the esophagus, inhibiting the retrograde movement of gastric contents.  

  • Escherich’s reflex

    Involuntary muscular contraction of the mouth when the mucosa of the lips is stimulated; this is noted particularly in newborns. A pursing or muscular contraction of the lips resulting from irritation of the mucosa of the lips.

    Muscular group of the dorsal spine that originates at the sacrum, ilium, and lumbar vertebrae and attaches at the ribs and upper thoracic vertebra; the function is to maintain upright posture and extend the vertebral column.
