  • Secondary cartilaginous joint

    A joint where the surfaces of the two bones are connected by a piece of cartilage so that they cannot move, e.g. the pubic symphysis.

    Cirrhosis of the liver caused by an obstruction of the bile ducts.

  • Seat-belt syndrome

    A group of injuries between the neck and the abdomen which occur in a car accident when a person is using either a lap belt or a shoulder belt incorrectly, not over the strongest part of the chest.
