    A process of reducing the uncertainty about a person’s beliefs and attitudes by comparing them to those of others. The process of evaluating oneself by comparing oneself with others on relevant dimensions.

    A person’s knowledge and understanding or person’s social relationships and social institutions.  

  • Social climate scale

    An instrument used to assess a specific environment involving several factors, such as personal relationships, person development, and environmental quality.  

  • Social class

    A grouping of people on a dimension of social prestige. Often perceived as ranging from upper-upper to lower-lower.

    The process of affecting change through altering the structure and function of a social system involving individual and group learning.  

  • Social audit

    The process of measuring the social responsibility activities of an organization.  

  • Social approaches to treating slcoholism

    Includes small and large group interactions and are represented by halfway houses, the day and night hospitals, voluntary agencies, e.g. alcoholic anonymous, and rehabilitation centers.  

  • Social anonymity

    The state of being unrecognized as an individual by society.
