Minimata disease
A disease, first made notable in Minimata, Japan, in 1956. Caused by mercury poisoning. The disease is characterized by delirium, paralysis, and brain damage.

Minimal sufficiency principle
A principle that holds that appropriate behavior can be best achieved by deemphasizing the external factors that are contributing to the inappropriate behavior. In other words, minimal rewards and punishments should be used to enforce appropriate behavior.

Minimal medium
A chemically defined medium that will support the growth of an organism.

Minimal risk level (MRL)
An estimate of the daily human exposure to a chemical that is likely to be without an appreciable risk of deleterious effects (noncancerous) over a specified duration of exposure.

A term sometimes used to describe a hyperactive child reflecting the belief that at least some hyperactive children suffer from minor brain.
