  • Living together

    An arrangement in which two people live together without the formality of marriage implies intimacy does not constitute a common law marriage.  

  • Livid

    Suffused with blood to give a bright, congested appearance, usually applied to the face. Referring to skin with a blue colour because of being bruised or because of asphyxiation. Denoting a bluish color of the skin, such as that produced locally by a bruise or of the general complexion in cyanosis.

    An enzyme in the liver that is essential in the metabolism of many drugs.

    Slang for small booths in which customers watch a model pantomime sexual acts.  

  • Live birth certificate

    A document that states that a live birth has occurred regardless of the length of pregnancy. This certificate is required in all states in the United States. The is usually signed by the person attending the birth and who may not necessarily be a trained medical person.  

  • Litter

    In first aid, a stretcher or device for carrying a victim of an accident or illness. In zoology, the multiple birth of some animals. A stretcher for carrying the wounded or the sick.  

  • Litigation

    A lawsuit or legal action that determines the legal rights and remedies of the person or party.  

  • Lithotomy position
