Language acquisition device (LAD)
Chomsky’s name for the innate knowledge that humans appear to have regarding the possible rules and meanings of language. This “device” enables anyone at a very early age to infer the grammar of whatever language is first spoken to him or her.

The systematic linkage of utterances that convey a message. The spoken or written words or symbols used by a population for communication.

Langerhans cells
Dendritic cells in the skin that pick up antigens and transport them to the lymph nodes. Cells on the outer layers of the skin.
